Understanding how a GAS Calculator works is very simple. Most calculators use a basic formula involving distance traveled, vehicle fuel efficiency, and fuel price.  After entering fuel efficiency, you provide the current fuel price. The calculator then uses these values to determine the amount of fuel needed for the trip and the total cost.  Many advanced GAS Calculators can also calculate round-trip expenses, monthly fuel costs, and annual fuel budgets. Some tools allow users to add extra expenses such as toll charges and parking fees.
